Dual Language Mission and Vision Statement

 

At Lovelia P. Flournoy Elementary School Spanish Dual Language Program, students are immersed in a rigorous academic environment where they become biliterate, bilingual, and critical thinkers. Through immersion, students develop an appreciation and respect for the cultural aspects of the Spanish language. They also gain a strong sense of identity and a deep appreciation of diversity. Our dedicated team collaborates to nurture this growth from kindergarten through 4th grade, laying a foundation for academic excellence, intercultural competence, and global citizenship. We are committed to fostering a love for learning and empowering students with the skills they need to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world.

 

In our program, we see students as teachers and they serve as language models for each other. We are passionate about educational equity and know that all students can learn and that all students are language learners. We see English Learners as emergent bilingual students and as great assets to our program. We strive to reach educational equity through rigorous academics for all.
